I teach because I truly enjoy sharing my musical passion and knowledge that I've gained over years of study and practice. The kind, supportive words of my own music teachers as I grew up playing cello in school orchestra had a lasting impact on my life as a student and working musician. I want to pass on that helpful encouragement to the next generation of aspiring musical minds... and hopefully have some fun in the process!
I'm from the Northern VA/DC area. I came to L.A. to attend the Bachelor Program in Guitar Performance at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA where I earned 'Most Outstanding Student' in my graduating class.
I play guitar, bass, piano, ukelele, drums, as well as write, arrange, and produce my own songs. I've always been impressed with the great multi-instrumentalist songwriters in pop music history: Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Elliott Smith, Jeff Lynne, Jon Brion and so many others. I believe that every student can benefit from learning multiple instruments because it so greatly expands their ability to communicate with other musicians and write better songs.
I don't play cello much anymore but I have an undying love for classical music... that might be me next to you in freeway traffic blasting Dvorak or Tchaikovsky in my car.
